Taking a Blogatical

Thanks to all of you who continue to follow my blog and other writings.  The rest of this year is going to be crazy-busy for me, as I start my new adventure learning to work in animal behavior.  Along with my “real” job teaching yoga and running yoga teacher trainings, I’ll be heads down in final edits for my next Downward Dog Mystery, which is now available for pre-order and will release on January 8!

Add to that attending the Northwest School of Canine Studies and pursuing a Certificate in Applied Animal Behavior at the University of Washington, and I will be a busy lady.

I’ll still post updates and news on the blog, but not weekly.  If you have specific topics you’d like me to consider writing about, please let me know at Tracy@TracyWeber.net or in a comment on this article.

Otherwise, Ana and I will still be on Facebook, and we hope to see you there!  Have a lovely fall, everyone!

Birthdays can be Murder!

By Kate Davidson of Tracy Weber’s Downward Dog Mystery Series

Hi all! Kate Davidson here from Tracy Weber’s Downward Dog Mystery Series. Tracy asked me to drop by and wish her hubby, Marc, a happy birthday! So here it is …

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MARC!

Tracy would tell you how old he is, but he’d probably knock her flat on her sits bones, so she’s keeping that special number a big secret.

Speaking of husbands, I should give some credit to my own better half, Michael Massey. It’s not his birthday, but he certainly deserves some attention, since he’s not getting much of it from me lately. I mean sure, we hang out together, and I love him more than anything else in life, except maybe for my German shepherd, Bella. But our marital lovemaking has become rather, well, scheduled, lately. We’ve been trying for almost a year now, and no baby so far. I’m beginning to wonder if we might have fertility issues.

Which is why I probably shouldn’t have agreed to start a yoga program at Teen Path HOME, a Seattle youth center for homeless youth. I love working with the kids and I think I can help them, but nothing in their lives is stress free. I’ve become particularly attached to Rainbow, a sixteen-year-old who is a phenomenal artist.

I’m worried about her, though. She’s been hanging around this teenage boy who I’m almost positive is dealing drugs, and she seemed really upset the last time I saw her in class. I’d like to help her, but I’m not sure what I can do. At least this time I’m not wrapped up in the middle of a murder investigation…

Wait. Is there any wood around here to knock on? I hope I didn’t just jinx myself. Please pretend I didn’t say anything and wish Tracy’s hubby a happy birthday!

If you want to read about Bella’s and my newest adventure, meet Rainbow and find out if I get mixed up in murder, please pre-order Tracy’s newest Downward Dog Mystery, Murder Likes It Hot.

ENJOY!

Pre-Meditated Murder the fifth Downward Dog Mystery, is available now!  Go on, buy yourself a copy.  You know you want to!  Book 6, Murder Likes it Hot, will be out on January 8, 2019!

It’s a Cover Reveal!

I’m so behind on revealing the cover for my upcoming mystery, Murder Likes It Hot, that it’s already available for pre-order.  So, without further ado, here are the cover and blurb!

Newly married yoga instructor Kate Davidson feels stuck in low-energy limbo despite her high-energy life. She’s trying to conceive a child, keep her studio afloat now that the ultra-cheap Some Like It Hot Yoga studio has opened across the street, and start a yoga program at a local resource center for homeless youth.

When a center employee is found dead, Kate sets aside her fertility and financial woes to delve into the world of teenage homelessness. While digging for clues with her German shepherd, Bella, Kate discovers that family can be formed by bonds stronger than shared DNA, and she must defend it at all costs.

I learned a lot in researching this book, and I hope to bring attention to some of the unique issues facing homeless teens in Seattle, especially those younger than 18.  Please pre-order it, if you are so inclined, and if you read it, let me know what you think!

Love to you as always.

Pigeons, Yoga Studios, and Mysteries, Oh My!

Hi all!

Today, I’d like to share with you a blog article I wrote recently for Killer Characters.  The article is officially written by Judith, one of the characters in Karma’s a Killer, but she recounts a story about a real-life pigeon that used to live at Whole Life Yoga, and the day I saved him after a near-fatal hawk attack.  You can read the account that I wrote on that day at this link.

The blog on Killer characters can be found at http://www.killercharacters.com/2018/06/wildlife-rehab-can-be-murder.html

Oh–and Karma’s A Killer is now available in audiobook on Audible!

Enjoy!

Time to Celebrate!

During the last week and a half, I’ve crossed the finish line on several important milestones.  A friend asked me yesterday if I’d celebrated yet.  The answer, surprisingly, was no.  I’ve been so far behind since I broke my collarbone that I’ve stumbled from one major project to the next, not looking behind me for fear I’d get run over by the next deadline.  Today, please help me celebrate virtually!

Milestone 1:  Completion of my sixth Downward Dog Mystery, MURDER LIKES IT HOT!  Cover reveal and excerpts coming soon.  The book was due April 1, and will be released on January 8, 2019!

Cover reveal for Murder Likes it Hot coming soon!

Milestone 2: Completion of the proposal for book seven in the series, tentatively titled THE VINYASA VENDETTA.  I will likely change that title, but for now it works.  My publisher will have to read it, look at sales numbers for book five, Pre-Meditated Murder, and decide if they want to continue publishing the series.  So if you haven’t purchased Pre-Meditated Murder yet, now’s the time!  😉  I likely won’t know whether or not the proposal is accepted for awhile, but keep your fingers crossed for me!

Milestone 3: I renamed my yoga business!  It’s svAna Yoga, and you can learn more about why I chose that name at this blog article.  This business will focus on yoga teacher training, yoga teacher training continuing education, private yoga therapy, and perhaps a retreat or two!  Much more on this as the website is developed.

Milestone 4: I spent four days on the East Coast, hanging out with my writer tribe at Malice Domestic.  It’s always wonderful to reconnect with my writer friends, and I’m glad I got to do so this year after having to miss it last year.

What’s My Line? A panel I spoke on at Malice!

So what’s next?  Lots of things, and honestly I’m still mega behind.  I need to develop the content for my new yoga website, I have several yoga teacher training projects in the works, and I begin a six-month training on animal behavior this month.  Depending on the results of Milestone 2 and how fast my yoga therapy practice grows, I may start a nine-month program in Applied Animal Behavior at the University of WA in September.

I told my husband the other night that if nothing takes off, I’ll be very bored.  If the book series, yoga business and animal behavior training all thrive, I’ll be swamped.  Wish me the latter.  I always love life when I’m busy!

Thanks all!

It’s a New Audiobook!

Today’s blog article will be short and sweet.  I’m delighted to announce that my third Downward Dog Mystery, Karma’s A Killer, is now available on audiobook!  I love, love, love my narrator, Anne James.  Give it a listen, and let me know what you think!

Book Signings and One-Armed Margaritas!

Hi everyone. I’m still living life one handed, but I wanted to share a couple of quick photos from my book signing at the Edmonds Bookshop on Saturday. This little jewel of a store has always been good to me, so even though I didn’t do signings anywhere else this year, I couldn’t skip them. If you haven’t ever gone into the store, please do. Local bookstores need all of our help to continue surviving and hopefully thriving.

I’ll never get used to the thrill of seeing my name on a chalkboard outside of a bookstore.

This is me chatting with members of my audience before I started reading. I travel with a host of pillows these days. The pink pillow in the photo supports my elbow.

By the time I started reading, the chairs were filled, and people were standing in the back. We sold all but one copy of my newest, Pre-Meditated Murder, and sold out of much of my backstock. Many of the people in the audience came as a result of the article in the Seattle Times.

No reading would be complete without a post-celebratory margarita. Thanks to friends Rene, Sheryl, and Anna, who joined me for a few snacks. The handsome man in the photo next to me is my husband Marc.

Thanks everyone who supports me in every way. Please continue to send bone-knitting energy. I’ve still got eight days before I can have a repeat x-ray, and it is likely I’ll be in the sling for awhile after that. But every day that passes is a day closer to when all of this will be behind me.

Tracy
